The Grazalema Natural Park presents an astonishing landscape. Here the cliffs and rocks are abundant, together with a very diverse vegetation: holm oaks, cork oaks, scrubland and the Spanish Fir, a species of fir that has its best preserved forest in Grazalema. The abundance of vegetation is due to the fact that this is one of the areas in Spain with the highest amount of rainfall.
There is also a great variety of fauna, including the Spanish Ibex and the Griffon Vulture, which has one of its largest European colonies here.
The route we propose is the Pinsapar route (Pinsapo is the spanish name for the Spanish Fir), one of the most spectacular in the whole park. It is located inside the restricted area but we are in charge of applying for the permits ( bear in mind that there are daily quotas so it is better to book this route well in advance).
After a first section in ascent crossing bushes and pine forests we will arrive at the Spanish Fir forest, which grows in the shelter of the impressive cliffs of the Torreón summit, which at 1648 m.a.s.l. is the highest peak in the province of Cadiz. Then we will cross Spanish Fir forest in a gradual descent until we reach the white village of Benamahoma. There is a taxi service (not included) to go back to the parking El Pinsapar.
If you prefer to do another route of higher or lower difficulty or duration, or located in other areas of the park, please contact us. We are very knowledgeable about the extensive network of trails in the Sierra de Grazalema.
